I used to have a feeling that whenever I needed to make a decision, the answer would come right out of the center of my stomach. I felt with confidence that any answer coming out that way would always be right. According to the western,this feeling is called " Gut feeling" which is like an instinctive feeling arising from intuition. The most important thing is why that intuitive feeling or answer has to come out of the center of the stomach?

In one of meditation rounds, my mind entered a state of deep relaxation that I felt my whole body was completely gone. I saw very bright light coming straight out of the center of the body. Then the light seemed to have a round shape like the moon in the sky. So I called it " my moon".

When I was 35 years old, I had a strong feeling that I needed to find what I've always wanted the most which was the right way to meditate. At that time, I felt there was something missing in my life. I, then, made a wish to meet someone who could lead me the way or give me the clue to my goal.

I practiced meditation by visualising a crystal ball in the middle of my stomach and settling my mind at the middle of the ball. I thought of nothing, only maintaining my mind at that point continuously. Then, I got to know " the plunging feeling". I felt like I plunged fast to the depth of my stomach like being squeezed into a very long narrow tube which seemed to extend forever.

I felt so lucky that I got a friend like Meemee. I'd like to thank her for bringing me here to discover such happiness that I've never felt before. She is my virtuous friend that I'll never ever forget. Now I understand the reason why the world needs virtuous friends.

Medtation's changed me. I've become less stressed and nervous. I memorize things better and my mind's more tender. Before, I used to get angry and speak harsh words when any of my attendants made mistakes. Meditation not only cures physical illnesses, it also cures human's mental sufferings.

Not for long, my mind started to settle and maintain still. The mind felt so pure, free from all the defilements and I felt such joy that I couldn't describe. When my mind was still, I sometimes saw brightness, which made me feel so happy. Meditation makes me realize that inner happiness simply starts with stilling the mind. By that method,inner happiness is ready to come out for us to experience and it's free!

During the evening Chanting, I was chanting while stopping the mind at Dhammakaya(the Bhudda image inside one's body).I started with relaxing my body from top to toes. Then, I'd let my mind wander as much as it liked untill it naturally stopped. I've been meditating for a year and a half and now meditation is a part of my life.

Meditation's changed my whole life. I think it is the treasure I unexpectedly found. I have a clearer mind, equipped with the handy tools to move onto the future and overcome all obstacles. In the past, I used to drink wine to calm myself down after a day of hard and stressful work. Now I've turned my back on it. When my stress level rises, I sit and meditate. It clears my mind and gives me a peaceful sleep.

I felt gratefully touched when the venerable teaching monk came here to teach us meditation. He told us that his meditation master is the abbot of Dhammakaya temple in Thailand and that he sent him here to teach meditation in order to make peace in Africa. It is such a noble and great project. The abbot also initiated "Peace for Africa" Project which will include lighting lanterns for peace in this coming October in Johannesberg.

Inner peace is the very thing that is lacked in South Africa, therefore the Peace for Africa Project initiated by Ven.Luang Phaw Dhammajayo from Dhammakaya foundation, Thailand, will be definitely welcomed. I intend to bring this peace project to the media throughout South Africa.

When the teaching monk asked me if the inner experience of seeing the crystal Buddha image in the middle of my body would affect my religious belief, I answered " No, It won't" since I believe in mind power, that is ,as long as we believe in being good and having a peaceful mind, meditation is automatically the best practice for us without contradicting our own beliefs.

The girls in this program had an opportunity to learn about Buddhist discipline and culture. They took eight precepts, did chanting and meditating. Also they had a chance to listen to Buddhist teachings from the teaching monk. Especially, the topic of " Father and Mother's Love" touched the girls' hearts that they cried so much their eyes were all red the next morning.

I often kept my meditation pretty easy and simple. I was meditating by relaxing the mind in a casual way, with no questioning or wondering. Then, a golden Buddha image appeared amidst a big spot of light at the center of my body. The first Buddha image was smaller than my body but the next ones were bigger and brighter. They sat meditating in the same direction as me. I could see their detailed faces and heads so clearly. I was watching them, feeling great joy.

When I first meditated, I only saw darkness but I felt very peaceful. Then, I received Pramongkolthepmuni(the great meditation master of Dhammakaya tradition)'s picture after donating some land for establishing Denmark Meditation Centre (Wat Buddha Denmark).And when I meditated in front of his picture, a miracle happened to me!

In South Africa, Peace is our crisis. Killing foreign African people was a very terrible thing. That's why I got myself out of Zimbabwe but I ended up encountering it here. Meditation's helped me get through it. Every morning, I start my day with meditation. It makes my day worthwhile and filled with happiness. I'd like to tell all my family and friends that meditation is a true way to bring peace to South Africa and the African continent.

For the past three days in this Meditation Program, I've been doing nothing much at all. I felt like I've been living in heaven, doing nothing except for having meals, meditating and having a rest. I really liked it, especially when we meditated. Our mentor teached us to take a deep breath to the deepest point in the stomach and rest the mind there. So, I relaxed my mind, thinking of nothing. Then, the mind gradually became so vacant and roomy that I felt it expanded to the end of the horizon. And there was a spot of light appearing at the center of my stomach.

After having meditated for a while, I felt lighter, roomier and very comfortable as if my whole body disappeared. Then, I saw a very clear crystal ball. It was clearer than any other crystal ball I have ever seen. And many other clear crystal balls kept coming one after another forming a long line of crystal balls inside me. Then, Buddha images appeared inside the balls and covered my whole body. I was seeing it without any strain, instead I felt such joy and happiness that I cried.

I used to panic when I had inner experiences. I would open my eyes instantly when they happened. Sometimes when it made me feel scared, I would think of the great meditation masters. But now I've won. Instead of feeling afraid, I'd still my mind gently and happily without thinking of anything. If anything came up, i would ignore it and keep still.

As I was meditating, I was impressed with Luang Phaw's warm, gentle ,caring ,yet powerful voice. I was happily listening to his voice while sitting comfortably and relaxing my mind, letting go of all thoughts. Soon after, I felt lighter, roomier , brighter and happier. My mind completely stilled at the centre of the body(the seventh base). Then, a crystal clear Buddha image appeared.

I was relaxing my mind when I felt my mind plunge in a long tube very fast. Then, I saw some light in the midst of my stomach. That light kept expanding and I kept observing it. The light shone brightly.

During my meditation, i closed my eyes gently,not completely shut, and stilled my mind at the center of the body. Shortly after, I saw some light in the shape of a ball. It kept changing colours and sizes, from big to small, small to big alternately. It looked so beautiful and gave me such tranquilness that i felt so much joy and started to cry

As I was meditating for a while, The Dhammakaya(the clear buddha image) inside me started to be at my wish. It became bigger when I made it bigger, as big as a mountain. It became smaller as I made it smaller. I could make it bigger than or the same size as a watermelon or as small as a little ant. Even of a size of an ant, the Dhammakaya was shining so bright like the sun but the light was not burning, instead it was soft and gentle.

When my mind was completely still, the inner delight with a sensation of rapid cooling expanded all over my body. A small spot of light appeared at the centre of the body and it was getting bigger and bigger. The light was so bright like some stainless metals reflecting the bright sun light but it was a soft not burning kind of light. My mind was still in that condition for a while, then a Bhuddha image (Dhammakaya)appeared and got bigger and bigger at the center of my body.

Visualising a round object-the moon, the sun, or a crystal sphere- can assist me to have meditation in progress. I felt my mind enter the visualized moon and went through the seven bases of the mind. It was still and firmed at the seventh base which was the right path to the Middle Way. At the beginning,it was difficult to keep my mind still at the seventh base, But when I could do it, my mind was enlarged with no boundary . It was unlimited joy.

This smart and good Thai girl from U.S.A had turned stress into happiness by means of meditation. "I got stressed very easily because I was always beyond the joke with everything I concerned. Things on my hands were meticulous. During meditation, I felt happy and stress free. Meditation makes me reach inner happiness and know what true happiness is- it is sustainable unlike other happiness performed by other activities. "
